Markdown Files (.md)

Root supports Markdown text, but Chrome stores its working library in browser storage. Export a full library to keep readable note files and the library manifest outside the browser. Keep a separate backup before clearing data or removing the app.

Local-First

Your notes live on your physical device first. Full editing, search, Open Tasks, and exports require zero internet and zero account creation. Optional paid Root Connect syncs through your own Google Drive. Root does not host your notes. See Privacy for file-provider and service details.
