In desktop Chrome
- Pin Root, then choose its toolbar icon to open Draft beside a webpage.
- Write a thought. Attach the page only when its source helps.
- Save as a new note or append to Inbox. Draft saves automatically as you work.

Start by capturing one thought. Then try a task, a reusable Snippet, or a small Context Handoff when you need it. Keep a separate export of anything important.

Start on whichever device suits you. Chrome keeps Draft beside the web; iPhone offers capture with Voice Note, Meetings, Smart Scan, and the Share Sheet. Each works independently without pairing devices or buying Root Connect.
To sync supported devices, purchase the optional Root Connect unlock on iPhone, then connect your Google Drive. You can keep using either app locally without it. Install help.

Start with one thought
On iPhone
- Open Root and write or capture one thought.
- Try Voice Note, Smart Scan, or Share to Root when useful.
- Review the captured text in Inbox or the note you saved.
New Chrome workspaces include three editable example notes: about.md for your profile, AGENTS.md for assistant instructions, and context.md for working context. Existing notes and Snippets stay in place.

Do not organize too early
Inbox is allowed to be rough. Use Open Tasks for unfinished lines, Snippets for reusable text, and Context Handoff when something needs to leave Root. Tags can come later when a pattern is real.
