Text capture
Send to Root
Ask for text and save it to your Root Inbox with Task turned off.
Root for iPhone
Root already includes native Apple Shortcuts actions. These optional starters make three common capture jobs ready to use: send text, add a task, or save your clipboard to Inbox.
Before installing
Install or update Root from the App Store before adding these Shortcuts. If Shortcuts says a Root action is missing or unknown, update Root, open it once, then close and reopen Apple Shortcuts.
Optional starters
Each link opens Apple's own Shortcut preview. Review the actions, tap Get Shortcut, and keep or change the name before adding it.

Read your current clipboard and save its contents to Inbox with Task turned off.
How it works
Private by default
These Shortcuts work with the local Root library on your iPhone. They do not require a Root account, Root Connect, Google Drive, or network access for local use. Root Connect is optional when you want to sync devices with your Google Drive.
Built-in actions
You can also build your own automations with Root's native actions for sending, opening, appending, copying, creating, and finding notes. Installing a separate starter is not required to use them.
